Mannheim, Germany – SCHOKINAG will underline its commitment to sustainability and responsible sourcing at ISM Ingredients 2026 in Cologne (booth nr. 73F18), reinforcing its role in shaping an environmentally and socially conscious cocoa sector.
For SCHOKINAG, sustainability means operating successfully while supporting economic growth in cocoa-producing countries and protecting natural resources. Corporate social and environmental responsibility is central to its approach, with the well-being of cocoa-growing communities at its heart.
This commitment is reflected in partnerships with suppliers that promote fair working conditions, combat illegal child labour, and encourage sustainable farming practices. SCHOKINAG also offers Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance certified chocolates, providing customers with options that meet recognised ethical standards.
Since joining the GCB Group in 2020, SCHOKINAG has strengthened its sustainability efforts through direct access to raw materials and improved control over their origin. This advantage enables a more sustainable supply chain and greater flexibility for customers. A key initiative made possible through this ownership is “Good Cocoa & Beyond”, GCB’s comprehensive sustainability programme driving long-term improvements in farming practices, community development, and environmental stewardship.
Alongside these efforts, SCHOKINAG guarantees full adherence to the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) from the moment it becomes effective. Thanks to GCB’s role as its main supplier, compliance processes are streamlined and secure, supported by standardised deforestation risk assessments and robust traceability systems. This guarantees that cocoa used in production is deforestation-free and legally sourced, ensuring transparency and smooth delivery for EU shipments.
As a member of the German Initiative on Sustainable Cocoa (GISCO), SCHOKINAG collaborates with industry stakeholders on certification, traceability, agroforestry, and child labour prevention – further reinforcing its commitment to a sustainable cocoa sector.
